I have been using Djay Pro for a little while doing weddings here and there. I use it for its Spotify Premium integration. I know Ableton Link will probably never be a part of Djay Pro..but I see a couple apps that do have it. I'm curious to how I could use a traditional “DJ' app with Link along with my Push 2 and other MIDI controllers, iPads and apps for my personal production/jamming. I see that the Soda DJ app by the maker of Modstep has Ableton Link but it has a VERY low AppStore rating. I’m leaning towards DJDJ Mixing because the same developer created SeekBeats (one of the best apps EVER) Like most of us here, I am very used to firing up a bunch of apps with Link, syncing up midi and going to town… I just never thought about mixing stuff in from a traditional (NON cliplaunch)'DJ' app. Is anyone using these apps live and on the fly while also using Launchpad, BM3, Blocs, Gadget, Synth ARPS etc, in this manner? Cue points on the '1 and'? How to Link the Song to Link while staying linked!? Are these the only two apps with Link or are there others? Any light that can be shed, is much appreciated.

- Look no further than DJ Player Pro. It has Link and Deezer integration if you liked having Spotify with DJay. There’s nothing like going down the rabbit hole of millions of tracks. DJ Player supports Serato and Traktor DVS, easily configurable with any midi controller, and works with most audio devices. It’s an universal app. I have Traktor on a MacBook Pro but I prefer using DJ Player Pro on an iPad. This thing is totally Pro and supported by a great developer. When I have a problem or question it always gets answered within hours by the guy who made the thing. It is subscription based but it’s very low for a years access, maybe $20 annually or something. You also get access to a cloud service that automatically saves all your que points/beatgrids etc. Friggin sweet when you use multiple devices. Try it you’ll like it!
- edited April 2018I recently started using DJay2 again, mostly for nonlinked BM3 fodder which it is awesome for but if Pro had Ableton Link I would absolutely get it. Sheesh, we can’t even manually enter the BPM in 2, can you in DJay Pro yet?

Sheesh, we can’t even manually enter the BPM in 2, can you in DJay Pro yet?Yes you can per deck..As for a global setting there is none. There is an 'auto detect bpm' setting but it's not the same as setting a manual bpm.2008-12-6 Download MixMeister BPM Analyzer Here MixMeister BPM Analyzer is a free program you can use to automatically detect the exact BPM (beats per minute) of any song. The tags in most digital music files provide no BPM information at all, and others contain estimates, which are often inaccurate. Free online Tap BPM tool allows you to calculate tempo and count Beats Per Minute (BPM) by tapping any key to the rhythm or beat. Tap for a few seconds to quickly calculate BPM without waiting the whole minute. You may optionally configure it for Beats Per Second (BPS) or Beats Per Hour (BPH). How does the Ableton Link aspect work in regards to staying linked with other apps/gear as a DJ app will 'start' a song when it starts, usually with a pause at the beginning. Do you have to make your cues exactly right on time with your Link start and bpm? Just trying to wrap my head around this.. Mixing in vocal chops and other non-timed samples on top of linked apps is no problem with DjayPro, it's actually linking up the beat of a song deck with Ableton and iOS apps that I'm wondering about. I'm more thinking about live performance vs. DAW work.. - @Approach said:

Try it you’ll like it!One of the best DJ softwares around, I own Traktor/Serato/VDJ/Mixvibes and all the apps on IOS, the only app worth using on IOS (for me) is DJPP, simply because nothing else even has DVS and non are as reliable, and i find my self moving towards it more and more over the desktop apps too, so much so it got its own iPad now in my set up.With the iTrack Solo Lightning, they’ve packed most all of the killer features from their range into this little box. While it is smaller and lacking a few of the features of some of Focusrite’s more expensive units, the iTrack Solo packs enough of a sonic punch to hold its own against most other interfaces at this price range. The mic preamp used here series are nothing short of phenomenal, giving you clean and clear recordings every time. Focusrite iTrack Solo Lightning £81.99/$119.99Focusrite has a great track record for producing extraordinarily high quality USB and Thunderbolt audio interfaces for Mac and PC. - Out of the DJPP manual. Not sure if it answers your questions fully. I haven’t used the app like you’d like to because I don’t integrate djing into music making. You got me curious now. Definitely going to try Ableton Link when I get home. I have no doubt it works though.9.5.1. Midi Clock, Ableton LinkDJ Player supports MIDI Clock and Ableton Link for synchronization with external devices or apps. DJ Player uses the tempo and beat phase information of its Master Deck for this. When using MIDI Clock for continuous tempo/beat sync, enable 'Start after Stop', so your connected devices will never stop playback, even if your Master Deck has been stopped.DJ Player can only send MIDI Clock ('master'). Ableton Link is a peer-to-peer technology, where DJ Player can be both master and slave. When the 'Master Deck PLAY Button Forces Ableton Link' setting is enabled and the master deck begins to play, DJ Player will force Ableton to re-sync the current session. In other words, Ableton will follow the master deck instead of the master deck following Ableton.

Free app users get the basics, including access to Spotify streaming and the software’s automix functions, while advanced and professional DJs can choose to upgrade to “djay Pro” for a US$4.99 monthly subscription.
The subscription djay Pro version gives access to the video functions, as well as a new Looper & Sequencer feature for launching audio and video clips in sync with any music playing on djay’s decks, for live remixing and improvisation.
Djay Pro Ipad Ableton Link Download
It also features the ability to plug in and map any Midi controller via Midi Learn, offers access to the single-deck preparation screen, and includes Ableton Link for syncing with other Link-enabled apps, and more.
Users of the latest USB-C iPad Pro can plug in external displays and controllers to djay Pro, to create custom and powerful iOS multimedia gigging set-ups.
So what is djay, and why the change?
Djay Pro Mac
Sometimes forgotten behind the bigger names, Algoriddim’s djay platform started on iOS but is now available in various guises across iOS, Android, Mac and Windows. It’s a highly capable platform and entirely possible to gig with on just a touchscreen device. That said, it has dedicated hardware too, such as the Reloop Mixon 4 and Beatpad 2.
Algoriddim’s combining of its various iOS offerings (djay 2, djay Pro, vjay) into one on iOS reflects a desire to simplify its product range, which makes sense.
The new subscription model is in line with lots of other software companies nowadays. We think US$4.99 a month offers good value for DJs needing the extra features, and of course everyone can get the basics for free – although note that if you want to use it with Spotify you will need to be a Spotify Premium subscriber.
As Algoriddim has always innovated on iOS first then developed afterwards for the other platforms, we’d expect similar changes down the line for Android, Mac and Windows too – although nothing has been announced.
